Samir Tata

I am a Senior Engineering Manager at LinkedIn, with more than a decade of experience in industry and academia, during which I have worked with some of the world’s leading organizations and contributed to groundbreaking research.

My career began in academia, as a Full Professor at Télécom SudParis, part of Institut Mines-Télécom and Université Paris-Saclay, France. After several years of teaching and research, I moved to industry as a Research Staff Member at IBM’s Almaden Research Center. I then joined LG Electronics’ Silicon Valley Labs as an Engineering Manager before settling at LinkedIn.

Over my career, I have authored more than 150 refereed articles, conference papers and book chapters, along with numerous technical reports. I have chaired several international conferences and workshops and served on the steering and program committees of many others. I also regularly teach graduate classes and serve on PhD committees.

I hold a PhD in Computer Science and a Master of Science from the University of Nancy I (University of Lorraine), France, and I have served as a project reviewer for European and French research funding programs.
