Biography
Professor Mohamed Faten Zhani is a highly accomplished researcher and educator with expertise in many areas of computer science and networking. He has made significant contributions to cloud computing, virtualization, resource management in large-scale distributed systems, big data analytics, software-defined networking, data center management, energy management and green computing. He also specializes in network performance evaluation, network traffic modeling, analysis and prediction, as well as anomaly detection and troubleshooting. His research extends to network security, particularly intrusion detection systems, and to optical networks, specifically optical burst switched (OBS) networks.
He is currently a professor at ISITCOM (Institut Supérieur d’Informatique et des Techniques de Communication) in Sousse, Tunisia, where he teaches and conducts research with a focus on data center management, cloud computing and services, network virtualization and software-defined networking.
He is also Co-Chair of Network Intelligence within the IEEE Emerging Technologies Initiatives, where he contributes to research on integrating artificial intelligence into future network architectures.
Previously, he was a professor at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal, Canada, for eight years. He also spent three years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Waterloo’s David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, working on cloud computing, big data, software-defined networking, data center virtualization, resource management and energy-aware management.
