Kamel Barkaoui

I am a Full Professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Le Cnam). I hold a PhD (1988) and an HDR (1998) in Computer Science from Sorbonne University.

Since my habilitation in 1998, I have been invited to sit on the juries of 41 PhD theses and 12 habilitation theses as an external examiner, mainly in France but also at universities abroad: the Maghreb, China, South Africa, Qatar, India, Italy, Canada and the USA.

I have been invited to give talks at many universities and events, including the International Colloquium on Theoretical Aspects of Computing (ICTAC, 2019); the School of Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Xidian University, Xi’an (2019); the College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou (2018); the School of Information & Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou (2018); the Computer Science for Complex System Modelling laboratory of the University of Zaragoza (2016); the VeriForm laboratory at Polytechnique Montréal (June 2016); and the Software Engineering Department of King Saud University, among many others.

Besides publishing more than 55 articles in indexed, peer-reviewed international journals (ISI, Scopus; three papers are ESI-indexed) and more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed international conferences, I have carried out many research activities at the Cedric laboratory of Le Cnam (EA1395) since its creation in 1988, where I have been in charge of Verification and Evaluation research since 1998. I am also a program committee member of several international conferences, over several editions.

My passion for computer science and for research in many different topics has driven me to keep moving forward, deepen my knowledge and develop my career to reach my current position, earning many honors and awards along the way. I believe that with hard work and confidence we can achieve a great deal, especially our dreams and goals.
