Jamila Mansouri

Jamila Mansouri is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the aerospace industry. Since March 2021, she has been Head of the Propulsion, Aerothermodynamics and Flight Vehicles Engineering Division at the European Space Agency (ESA) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, where she leads the division’s activities in propulsion, aerothermodynamics and flight vehicle engineering.

Before that, she was System Manager for the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme at ESA from November 2017 to March 2021, playing a key role in leading system activities for future space transportation and contributing to the development of innovative launch systems.

From March 2015 to November 2017, she was Ariane 6 Launch System Project Engineer, making significant contributions to the development of the Ariane 6 launch system.

Earlier in her career, she was a Project Manager at Arianespace from February 2007 to September 2009, responsible for the technical aspects of the Ariane 5 ECA upper stage during flight campaigns in Kourou. She also oversaw the production of the HM7B engine and its propulsion system, ensuring their flightworthiness and maintaining hardware qualification.

She began her career as a Space Propulsion Engineer at Snecma (now Safran) from September 2000 to January 2007, where she was responsible for the thermal analysis and thermo-mechanical design of propulsion systems and contributed to functional studies of the Ariane 5 ECA upper stage, including test follow-up and modeling.

Alongside her professional work, she has been President of the non-profit Association Aéro-coach since January 2014, which supports the railway, automotive and aerospace sectors in Africa and helps strengthen competence centers on the continent.

Jamila Mansouri holds an Executive MBA in Business Management – Strategy Implementation from HEC Paris (2017), a Social Business/Enterprise & Poverty certificate from HEC Paris, and an aerospace engineering degree specializing in aeronautical and space propulsion from the École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique (2000).

With her deep expertise in the aerospace industry and her commitment to development and knowledge transfer, she continues to make significant contributions to the field while supporting initiatives in Africa through her volunteer work.
