Biography

Professor Amin Chaabane is an experienced and accomplished academic in industrial engineering. He has been a professor at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal, Canada, since January 2011, where he teaches and conducts research in planning, manufacturing, logistics and sustainable supply chains under environmental regulation.

Before becoming a professor, he worked at ÉTS as a lecturer and research assistant from May 2006 to December 2010. During this time, his research focused on developing multi-criteria and multi-objective optimization techniques for better decision support systems, with real applications in the aeronautics industry, specifically in supply chain management for an aircraft engine manufacturer.

He also served as a visiting faculty member at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates for two months in 2016, and as a consultant for PMGI Maghreb in Tunisia for four months in 2005.

Professor Chaabane obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering from ÉTS in 2010; his doctoral work focused on decision support systems for manufacturing, specifically multi-criteria decision-making. His research has contributed to the development of novel optimization methods and algorithms for a variety of real-world industrial engineering problems.
