My Story
Mrs. Jamila Mansouri is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the aerospace industry. She currently serves as the Head of Propulsion, Aerothermodynamics, and Flight Vehicles Engineering Division at the European Space Agency (ESA) in Noordwijk, South Holland, the Netherlands, a position she has held since March 2021. In this role, she leads the division’s activities related to propulsion, aerothermodynamics, and flight vehicles engineering.
Prior to her current position, Mrs. Mansouri worked as a System Manager for the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme at the ESA from November 2017 to March 2021. During her tenure, she played a key role in leading system activities for future space transportation, contributing to the development of innovative launch systems.
Mrs. Mansouri also has experience as an Ariane 6 Launch System Project Engineer, where she worked from March 2015 to November 2017. In this role, she made significant contributions to the development of the Ariane 6 launch system, focusing on project engineering and ensuring its success.
Earlier in her career, she served as a Project Manager at Arianespace from February 2007 to September 2009, where she was responsible for the technical aspects of the Upper Stage of Ariane 5 ECA during flight campaigns in Kourou. She also oversaw the production of the HM7B engine and its propulsion system, ensuring their flightworthiness and maintaining hardware qualification.
Mrs. Mansouri began her professional journey as a Space Propulsion Engineer at Snecma (now Safran) from September 2000 to January 2007. During this time, she was responsible for thermal analysis and thermo-mechanical design of propulsion systems. She also contributed to functional studies of the Upper Stage of Ariane ECA, including test follow-up and modeling.
Alongside her professional work, Mrs. Mansouri is actively involved in volunteer activities. She has been serving as the President of the Association Aéro-coach since January 2014. This non-profit organization focuses on supporting the railway, automotive, and aerospace sectors in Africa, contributing to their development and strengthening competence centers on the continent.
Mrs. Mansouri holds an Executive MBA in Business Management – Strategy Implementation from HEC Paris, which she completed in 2017. She also holds a Social Business/Enterprise & Poverty Certificate from HEC Paris, as well as a degree in Aerospace Engineering, specializing in Aeronautic & Space Propulsion, from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique, which she obtained in 2000.
With her vast expertise in the aerospace industry and her commitment to promoting development and knowledge transfer, Mrs. Jamila Mansouri continues to make significant contributions to the field while actively supporting initiatives in Africa through her volunteer work.
